Anindya from India

My move to Tokyo from Bombay, India, was quite sudden and unexpected. I had just a little over a month's notice to pack my bags and join the new office. I didn't know any Japanese. This would be the first time I would be living in another country. And I would have to leave behind my familiar social circle and start all over again. Needless to say, it was quite stressful and finding an apartment asap was on the top of my list. Luckily, I got to know about Hikari Home through an online forum and Jeff got in touch soon after. He sat down with me and tried to make sense of my requirements after patiently listening to my confused ramblings (I really didn't know what I wanted). The end of the story is that I found my apartment at the end of the very first day after going apartment hunting with the shortlist that Jeff had prepared. A few emails later, it was time to just collect the keys, with hardly any paperwork involved. Jeff also helped me decipher the functions of the numerous buttons on the gadgets in the apartment (they were all in kanji!!). Thanks to Jeff and everyone else at Hikari, my move to Tokyo was a dream rather than the nightmare I had expected!

I was looking for an apartment in Tokyo and started by trying to do the research on my own through the internet. This proved to be very difficult! So I spoke to some friends and they recommended Kato-san with Hikari. I went and met with Kato-san several times to find the perfect apartment for me. He was very helpful and I felt that he really understood what I was looking for in an apartment even though I was not to sure what I was looking for.

I would recommend Kato-san and the staff at Hikari homes to anyone that is looking to make the move to Tokyo.

Thank you for all your help Kato!!! Noah

Before arriving at Hikari’s office I toyed with the idea to just renew the lease contract for the apartment I was living in at that time. Now I am glad that I didn’t and instead went to Hikari Homes. Right after I set my preferences Kaz surprised me with an apartment that didn’t match with my main criterias. However I was thrilled by the architecture of the building and thus was keen to go and have a look. Long story short, I put down an application immediately after I saw it and already feel at home whilst I am writing these lines. Kaz, thanks for everything. Keep up the good work!

Finding the appropriate apartment in Japan can be mazy, especially when you've just arrived and don't speak Japanese. I don't. However, surfing the internet I've found a property maintained by Hikari Home and asked information about that. On the very same day Kato-san contacted me, asked a lot of questions concerning my needs and offered me an appointment to show me some candidates.. The end of the story is of course that I've found my apartment with just the conditions I've asked for. Kato-san can understand your requirements and try to fulfill all of them. He is very kind, speaks English fluently and - what is very important for me - answers all of my e-mails promptly, as soon as possible, even on weekends. And that's not all about it. If you have questions he tries to help you anytime in everything even after you've found your apartment and arranged all of the paperwork.
I do not know anything about other companies, but finding an apartment with Hikari Home is a safe choice. Kato-san was a great help, thank you so much! Laszlo

I really recommend Hikari Home to anyone looking for an apartment in Tokyo. Kato-san was so kind and helped me a lot with finding the apartment, translating the contract and doing the apartment checklist after moving in. I could never have found such a nice apartment without Kato-san's help. Hikari Home will help you with everything you need and they even call and get the gas, electricity and water set up for you. It is an amazing company, especially for foreigners living in Japan. I absolutely love my new apartment and I am sure they can find an apartment perfect for you, too. Thank you Kato-san and Hikari Home!
