Few months until later, I was living inconveniently. Very far from work and very inconvenient train.
But now its all over.

I called the Hikari House and I there, I met an Agent who is so flexible and effective at his work. I asked anything what I like for my new house and he is like he can do anything. He exceeds beyond my expectation and also I can tell he is a nice guy.

Now I am living in a new, convenient and gorgeous apartment at Monzen-nakacho Proud flat III. And I am really proud of it.

Owing to the excellent support from Kinoshita-san and his efficient team, especially Kaz-san, not only did we manage to find a house through Hikari Home, but we were also able to complete the contracting procedures all within one week. Our agent, Kaz-san, was exceptionally attentive to our requirements and went the extra mile to search for our ideal home. The pace of his replies to our emails (usually no more than half a day) was beyond the industry service standard. I say this because this would be the third time that I am moving in Tokyo, and that I have written to several other housing agents in Tokyo prior to engaging Hikari Home, but their responses were often slow (a few days).

While Hikari Homes has an awesome selection of houses for rent, we were initially unable to find one which met all our requirements. Kaz-san was flexible, and agreed to facilitate our search for other houses beyond what Hikari Home was advertising. We then went on to google for houses carried by other websites, and emailed the details to Kaz-san, who promptly followed-up to check with the other companies on the availability of those houses.

The service of Hikari Home is truly impeccable. Kaz-san even facilitated our application for utilities and recommended good house movers for us. The efficiency of Kinoshita-san, Kaz-san and the entire team at Hikari Home enabled us to find a house which matched our requirements in lightning pace. Kaz-san gets our vote for the best housing agent of the month. It is my third move in Tokyo, but by far the most trouble-free. If you have not checked out Hikari Home, give it a shot. I didn’t quite believe the stories I had read about how difficult and time-consuming it is to find and rent an apartment in Tokyo – many of them recommended using a Real Estate Agent. Now that I have been through the process, I strongly agree and I highly recommend choosing Hikari Home as your Real Estate Agent!

I was not happy with my short-term apartment and I decided to look for a nicer place. In less than 2 weeks, Kato-san (Seiya Kato) helped me find a place that matched my budget and was located on the subway line I use for my daily commute into work.

Right from the start, Kato-san explained the upfront costs about renting in Japan to properly set expectations and carefully went through the available listings with me, which were all written in Japanese. Once I had decided on a place, Kato-san immediately filed an application and after a few days, once it was approved, he worked instantly to file all the necessary paperwork, sign the rental contract and provide me with the keys. Kato-san even helped me set up my utilities contacting the companies, which really was a huge help since I do not speak Japanese.

I have been living in Tokyo for over ten years and have moved six times and every time I had to jump through all kinds of hoops with real estate companies that didn't understand the gai-jin system.

BUT I have never had such an easy experience finding a place as a gai-jin in Japan with no hidden costs. Mr. Kato-san was very knowlegable about finding me a place that would accept hoshou-gaishi (garauntor company) instead of having to search for hoshou-nin (a japanese co-signer). He also helped me find the exact type of apartment space I wanted and right next to the train station that I need to live by.

I don't only recommed Hikari Home and Mr. Kato-san to my friends, I highly recommend their service to all gai-jin looking for a new place in Tokyo. I will never again look for another place in Japan with out using this type of service. Mr. Kato made my moving experience a very good one!!!
